The Plateau de Saclay and the Grand Paris project, what's next?

The Saclay plateau, with its 5,000 hectares, including 3,100 hectares of agricultural land, is a major center of excellence for innovation and research. The Saclay plateau is nicknamed the French "Sillicon Valley" with the presence of universities that concentrate 13% of the French research workforce (CEA, synchrotron sun, etc.), numerous companies (Renault, Danone, Thales, etc.) and prestigious schools (HEC, Polytechnique, etc.).

Not to mention our Best Western Plus Paris Val de Bièvre hotel... all within 20 kilometers of Paris.

The Greater Paris project has therefore favored the concentration of universities, grandes écoles and private research centers in this location, to make it a supercluster like that of Cambridge in England.

The objective of this project on the Saclay plateau is to amplify the dynamics of the region and to promote cooperation and synergies between higher education, research and businesses in the service of innovation, economic growth and job creation.

Eventually, in terms of transportation, the metro 18 will appear on the Plateau de Saclay: 35 kilometers of tracks, 14 municipalities served, including 7 in Essonne, and 10 new stations between Versailles and Paris Orly airport.

Metro 18 will provide rapid connections at Massy-Palaiseau with the RER B and C lines, at Versailles Chantiers with the RER C and Transilien trains, and at Orly with the extended line 14.
